Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'The Pounce'.
This drawing was conceived one cool summers’ evening after watching the determination with which a fox scoped the field below our house; stealthily quartering the ground before at last he launched into the air with an enormous spring in the long awaited pounce. Unfortunately on this occasion he was unsuccessful but his elegance and poise left an impression on me that I wanted to try and capture on paper.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing titled "Bellowing Stag".
The majesty of a stag with a healthy crop of antlers cannot be understated. I heard this chap early one morning not long after sunrise seeking to stake his territory and woo any passing females.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Jenny Wren'.
A very small but deceptively loud bird common in the British Isles and, I think, one of the loveliest. This little critter was typically mottled and understated in her colouring, as so many feathered females seem to be, but dainty and beautiful.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing titled ' Badger'.
Reminiscent of the mint humbugs we used to have as children, I spotted this stately chap lumbering along the road at dusk. He seemed unperturbed by my presence, with merely a glance before he trotted off to grub around the pine roots for an amuse bouche.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing titled 'Fezzyweg".
The colours of these magnificent birds never fail to astound me. Such splendour and pomp for what is actually rather an ungainly bird when trying to get airborne. I often think the colours are almost regal in their richness, with a meek vicar's collar of piety to bring him down to earth lest he get ideas above his station!

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Owl'.
This owl often hunts in the wood near my home. Watching him I get the distinct impression that in him is embodied an old soul of someone who has been this way before. He emanates wisdom and grace.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Pied Wagtail'.
I love the iconic flick flick of these birds’ tails and have always thought that their colouring give them the appearance of having put on their finest tuxedo; the James Bond of the garden.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Hedgepig'.
This prickly fellow was snuffling along the base of the hedgerow looking for tasty morsels. The hedgehog has more names than you can shake a stick at, not to mention the Irish name "An Grainneog" which means "little ugly one." In spite of this they seem to be a universally popular garden visitor, perhaps for their propensity to guzzle down slugs!

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Robin'.
Robins are believed by many to be messengers from loved ones who are no longer with us. This plucky little chap was watching me as I dug the garden for planting vegetables. His beady little eyes seemed full of intelligence and he was clearly brimming with curiosity about what I should be doing in his patch of the garden.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Launceston Castle'.
A slight variation from my normal subjects but I couldn't resist. Perched upon a steep hill, this Norman motte and bailey castle signifies the historic position of Launceston as the capital of Cornwall and indeed it used to control the main entry route into the slender peninsula of Cornwall from the rest of England. I often think how charming it looks from a distance, almost like a sand castle with the town nestled safely below.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Squirrel Nutkin'.
Like them or loathe them the grey squirrrel is here to stay. This furry critter was tucking into a tasty hazelnut when I spotted him perched in an obliging bough in a young broadleaf copse. Ever watchful, even when feasting, he had all the energy of a coiled spring ready to speed away if I tried to get any closer.

Signed, framed print of an Indian Ink drawing, titled 'Mighty Oaks from Little Acorns Grow'.
It is easy to see why oaks are the Nation’s favourite tree. Iconic, long living and able to support thousands of other beings. Standing under an ancient oak I was struck that everything above and below me was born from just one acorn. The analogy with a child is strong. To little people, add a whole load of love and nurturing, and over the years mighty legends can be grown.
